1. Describe: What is your project? What materials did you use to make it? How long did it take you to make? My project is a clay leaf, I used clay, glaze paint, and cardboard for the base, it took me a little over a month.
2. Evaluate: What are the good / strong parts of your project? What is done well and why? I think a strong part in my project wasn't the leaf since it broke but the painting and back ground that brings it out because i plan on making it look as lifelike as i can
3. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on this project and why? I could have done a better job reinforcing the leaf because I didn't really want it to break.
4. Describe the attributes of your theme / unity: What is the deeper meaning of the project? What are you trying to communicate? What details did you use to reflect that theme? I was trying to communicate that I can do more than just paint and draw, the deeper meaning is that I can be versatile.
5. Describe the important elements (blue-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important elements? Why do you believe those are the most important? Form and Texture, Texture because I want it to look and feel like a real leaf would
6. Describe the important principles (red-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important principles? Why do you believe those are the most important? Balance and Unity, Unity because I tried to make the clay glazed leaf to go together with the painted cardboard
7. Metacognate (think about your thinking!!!): What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why? I learned that not everything goes as planned and that you have to be ready to change your project at any point, always have a Plan B
EXCEEDING:
8. Evaluate and list the design process of your project (all of the steps you took to make it). 1st I drew preliminaries, then i worked out the clay, then i shaped the clay into a leaf, then it broke, so then i had to come up with new idea, put clay in kiln, glazed after, kiln again, glue clay on cardboard, finally paint the board
9. Why did you do the project the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? What changes did you have to make along the way (if any changes were necessary)? Elaborate... It wasnt planned because the leaf ended up breaking before it was finished, instead of having a stand on the leaf i had to glue the leaf to a piece of cardboard in order to keep it together
10. Was this a worthwhile project for yourself and why? What project will you be doing next and why? It was a learning expericence for me since it was one of my first times with clay, my next project is going to be of a hand holding a leaf drawing
